Coffee at Grata

Pair by contrast, not by matching.

Eight drinks, ₹219 to ₹299, hot and iced. The useful question is not which is best — it is which one goes with what you are about to eat.

Coffee is why you sit down.

A pastry is a two-minute decision. A coffee is an hour. That difference is most of what separates a bakery counter from a café, and it is the reason the mezzanine upstairs exists at all.

It is also why we stay open late. On Fridays and Saturdays the counter runs to midnight, and by then most of Galleria has shut. A savoury scroll and a Spanish latte at eleven is a genuinely small club to be in.

Two of the eight are iced by design, two more can go either way, and the matcha is made with powder rather than syrup — which is why it tastes grassy instead of merely sweet.

The pairings

Twelve worth knowing.

Something bitter next to something sweet. Something plain next to something rich. One exception, at the bottom, that matches instead — and earns it.

Classic Scroll ₹209
Cappuccino · ₹299
There is nothing on top to hide behind, so the coffee has to do the contrast. Espresso-forward, no sugar.
Buttercream Scroll ₹239
Latte · ₹219
The sea salt already cuts the cream. A latte sits alongside rather than fighting it.
Lemon Curd Scroll ₹239
Classic Frappe · ₹259
Sharp wants cold and plain. Anything roasted-tasting muddles the curd.
Toffee Scroll ₹239
Cappuccino · ₹299
Salted caramel is the hardest flavour to cut. Only espresso manages it.
Pistachio Scroll ₹279
Matcha Latte · ₹269
Grassy and slightly astringent against a rich nut cream. The best pairing on the menu.
Biscoff Scroll ₹279
Cappuccino · ₹299
Spiced and very sweet. It needs something bitter, and it needs it strong.
Marinara Scroll ₹249
Spanish Latte · ₹289
Savoury and salted wants sweet and milky beside it, not sharp.
Pesto Scroll ₹249
Vietnamese Iced Coffee · ₹279
Condensed milk and dark roast are among the few things that hold up to basil.
Walnut Tart ₹239
Vietnamese Iced Coffee · ₹279
Sweet on sweet, but the dark roast underneath carries the praline.
Fudge Brownie ₹159
Latte · ₹219
Already intense. A latte gives it somewhere soft to land.
Apple Pie ₹239
Monsoon Mocha · ₹289
Spice against spice. The one pairing here that matches rather than contrasts, and it works.
Kunafa Cheesecake ₹269
Spanish Latte · ₹289
Syrup and crisp pastry. Condensed milk keeps pace without turning it sickly.

Questions we get asked

Where can I get coffee late at night in Gurugram?

Grata Bakehouse serves coffee until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 10pm the rest of the week, at Shop SF-098, First Floor, DLF Galleria. Most bakeries and cafés in the area close by 8pm, so the late window is genuinely limited — a savoury scroll and a Spanish latte at eleven on a Friday is a real option.

Does Grata have iced coffee?

Yes. The Cappuccino and Latte are both available hot or iced, and three drinks are iced by design — the Classic Frappe at ₹259, the Salted Caramel Frappe at ₹299 and the Vietnamese Iced Coffee at ₹279. The Monsoon Mocha and Spanish Latte are served hot only.

What is the best coffee at Grata Bakehouse?

It depends what you are eating, which is the point of the pairings on this page. On its own, the Vietnamese Iced Coffee at ₹279 is the most interesting drink on the menu — slow-brewed dark roast over ice with condensed milk, sweet on top and bitter underneath. If you want something plain to sit with, the Latte at ₹219 is the one.

Can I work from Grata Bakehouse?

The mezzanine upstairs is the quieter half of the room and the better place to sit for an hour. It gets busier in the evening and at weekends, so early afternoon on a weekday is the calmer window. Reserve a table if you want to be sure of a spot.

Is the matcha real matcha?

The Matcha Latte at ₹269 is made with matcha powder rather than a sweetened syrup base, which is why it reads grassy and slightly astringent rather than simply sweet — and why it works so well against the pistachio scroll.

Coffee is the reason to stay an hour. Book the mezzanine, or order on Swiggy or Zomato.
